THE VOTES ARE IN . . . .
The results are in and the public have voted and here are the results of the first ever Plank Pushers anual awards . . .
This man, Breakneck (breakchef/stackchef/eric smellington) has been your skater of the year and takes the Golden Foot award and takes home a solid gold breakneck hat.
The hotly conested Golden bench award for lurker of the year goes to . . .
And finally the Young speilberg award for Edit of the year has been like a classic wacky races race with the leader changing constantly but when the poles closed it was Will Bermans Macmillan Day Jam edit that took the title.

Im sure everyone wishes him a FUCKING SPEEDY recovery. Chin-up man and keep on with the bro cam diaries.

The Werrics Update. ... READ
alright so the Werrics had return from the depths of council red tape bull shit and starts on Saturday the 5/12/09.
i had a meeting with the council about a few detail of the Werrics and here are a few updates to the poster/flyer i posted up.
its going to be every other week not every Saturday so after the 5th the next one will be the 19th
well. we can get in the building at 4pm to set up the ramps and sort out any other safety checks. so if you like skating the Werrics and want to help the night out come down and get the ramps out and set up quicker, for a longer skate.
its also going to be free at the moment for the first few sessions. but a door entry fee might be brought on later. this money collected at the door will not go to the council this is money for the skatepark to help towards funding for the grind box project and other tools like rollers to paint the ramps etc..
the council have helped out alot getting round all of the health and safety red tape and dew to this the council have said we must use helmets. once me and jake get to know the other member of staff we are going to see how to work round this but do help us out by wearing the skid lids provided for the first session.
i hope quite a few people come to this so i can show to the council it works and we are getting the numbers down so then we can run it every week

GRIND BOX NEWS - PART 1
Hello everyone,
PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS TO AVOID INEVITABLE QUESTIONS
So yesterday afternoon BigStu and I had a meeting with our boss, Wayne, and , Steve, the bloke weve been talking to from Gravity.
Wayne basically told us we have £9,500 to build the block from start to finish including all of the costs. Now for those of you that think that this is alot of money you mistaken. This has to include a concrete foundation, equipment, labour, transport, raw materials and so on. Therefore this IS NOT alot of money and can everyone please stop telling me that they can build it for cheaper, cause we all know youd build a peice of shit.
Right, now the original block idea was based on the 'T-block' at meanwhile 2 (royal oak) which gravity built, and we wanted to stick with that and sort of had to as that is what the YOF (youth oppertunity fund) gave us the money to build. Now that dosnt mean it has to be identicle. Which was a plus because im going to put my hand up and say the dimensions were all out, but what can I say when your sleep deprived and studying for your end of year exams numbers all sort of blur into one. SO we went down to the park to measure up other ramps to get an idea of decent dimensions. The manual pad at the bottom of the design is going to be roughly the same height as the halfpipe (from floor to manny pad) but a slight bit lower, only by about 4cm. And the top ledge was going to be about the height of the side of the mini-quater but we decided to make it a bit lower so that the other side was easier to skate, and thus came up with the same height as the south bank block leaving it about 25cm heigher than the manny pad.
This is so the whole peice is easier to skate and opening up more lines.
Here is the really interesting news though. Both end of the manual pad are going to be banked slighly to they are wallie-able AND one end of the high wall is going to be wallie-able. So there are loads more lines available.
ALSO
The original placement has had to change. In the original proposal the manny pad was going face out towards the park and the high wall was going to be infront of the bench, but now its going to be the other way around so the manny pad is going to face the bench.
This is for one main reason. When the park was originally built there was no drainage put in AND the park slopes towards the car park. This means that where we had originally planned to put the T-block would be in standing water. Which could either damage it or at least means its going to take ages to dry. By leaving it facing the other way it means the water can run off from the long ledge and leave the manny pad mostly dry and cause minimal damage. There is also a chance a drainage gap might run through the middle of the block for improved drainage.
THE BAD NEWS
With all projects like this putting a massive solid block of concrete any where needs careful consideration as to what the ground underneath is like. And the likely hood is that GBH, the people who built that park originally, are a bunch of tight cunts and have made a half arse job of tha tarmac (hench why we always get puddles gathering and there is no drainage). All this means is that a soild survey needs to be done of what we have to build on as we can in no way build straight onto tarmac other wise it would only last long enough for charlie to front shove off it.
If the soils shit a bigger foundation needs to be layed thus costing more £££ if its good no cut backs.
* * *
as you can in this photo im not making it up, from the right you can see all the water coming from the other side of the park and settling right where we want to put the block.
* * *
This is the design with the ammended dimensions. and showing the wallie-able areas. The steepness is going to be like that of 'Summer town' park in Oxford.
for those of you with no-so-good peepers you can see a full size A4 version of this by clicking the 'Ammended design' link on the top right.
WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR
Well basically in the next week or so Steve is going to draw up our plans properly whilst we wait for out boss Wayne to get soil surveys and park plans etc. and considering the council write up EVERYTHING and the park was built about 10 years ago we can sort of expect it to be a pretty hard job to find all the paper work so we are hoping to wait about a week/2 weeks to get to the next stage.
phew! thanks for reading make sure youve read it a few times before you pluck up the courage to ask a stupid question.

Saturday Sections
Just an idea. Don't know if it'll catch on but I just thought it was a good idea. Just post a skate part you've been feeling recently. Anyway, this is Richie Jacksons' part from Transworlds 'And Now'.
When I first saw Richie Jackson in 'Escape the boredom' I didn't really like the way he skated, the way he dressed and the tricks he did. But seeing this completely changed my mind. I now realize that he has a completely individual style and does tricks I have never seen anyone else do before. I think this is one of the sickest sections I have seen in a while.

Halloween photo
here are a few photo of the plank pushers Halloween jam at Windsor of course.
the night before me and jake painted the ramps and gave them a fresh bloody look.
when i returned to the park in the evening to turn the light off it was rainy quite heavy and helped the paint run abit more.... ok alot more .... yer it pretty much washed it all off.
on the day it rained in the morning but it dried up enough to skate later in the afternoon and this guy was there dressed up which is a little more then the rest of the people that came . you lazy cunts.
fabio was there with a mask not quite the full shabang but at least something.
mat had a gas problem
although he didn't have a problem with flying though the air and grabbing his nose
sam was there and arun's knee its getting better so he will be back in action soon.
ball ride to fakie. my knee is almost higher then my head that must be a good thing.
i would like to thank everyone who came down to Windsor for the skate jam as we have lost all council funding so this was our first truly solo event and we can't wait to run some more. it was the last night of working at Windsor skate park so if you hurt yourself now tough shit.
that all for now but ive got some more photo to post up here later in the week so keep checking back.

Today I was meant to bop into the big smoke with manswede to film a few things for his up and coming film project but due to water falling from the sky and inevitably wetting potential skate spots I took up an offer from another filmer, this man . . .
Wills be offered a season long aprenticeship with Method Magazine a snowboard magazine and so was with them at the London Ski and Snow expo and invited me down to kensington olympia, it was pretty busy . . .
We sat at Method stall . . .
opposite the sweet ass DJ booth . . .
and some guys drawing sweet pics on walls . . .
we also went off and filmed for a Method mag episode . . .
we also met Jenny Jones, X-games snowboard gold medalist and british buff head and saw her new film 'Stance'. I fell in love. Female snowboarders are all tidy as . . .
Finally ive been sitting on this rad pic for a while, its the number plate of a car down my road in Reading . . .
My blogging machine is slowly dieing and the quality of it seems to get worse day by day, sorry guys !
