GRIND GO-AHEAD + FINAL DATE

FINALLY, today was a wet and cold day and I was due down the skatepark for the digging of the 'Trial Hole'. The trial hole was to see what the ground was like underneath the tarmac so that the builders can see if the its suitable to build on.

Heres the builder getting busy cutting the hole.

Heres the hole in all its glory, not very exciting I agree but it shows 'type 1 covering' aparently exactly what the hoped would be underneath.

Heres the hole a bit deeper, hardly any more amazing but this is about how deep they are going to dig to lay the foundations.

- THE INTERESTING BIT -

All this means that the building is perfect to go ahead! They are hoping work starts on the 26th of April (weather permitting) and will take 4 days to build. Whilst they are building the park will be closed so we're hoping the block should be ready to skate for the beginning of may. ALSO I posted that the wallie-able ends on the design had to be scrapped due to budget constraints BUT aparently after costing they have allowed us to have tham again (but this is still in disscussion).

Finally Ive had alot of people asking about heights and sizes just to let you know, the height of the big longer peice is going to be 7 meters long and is going to be the height of the flat ledge at southbank and the manny-pad is going to be 3 meters long and the height of the halfpipe/manny pad currently at Windsor.

If youve got any questions leave a comment below and Ill try my best to answer them, any complaints go fuck your self you dont know how much work goes into getting this built !

GRIND BLOCK: THE LATEST

So I had a final email from Steve at Freestyle today with the lo-down so here it is -
* Firstly they are going to about on roughly the 30/31st of this month to dig a 'trial hole' to make sure the skatepark isnt built on marshmallows.

* If all goes to plan then work should start on the 25/26th of april and should take about 5 days and so it should be ready for the very beginning of May.

* The total length of the block has had to be reduced by a metre due to the budget not being big enough. This also means that the wallie-able ends have had to be scrapped (Darn recession!)

Next update after the Trial hole !

PEACE OUT !

CONCRETE BLOCK UPDATE

- PLEASE READ -

Had a quick phone call with Steve from Freestyle today and hes back on the project now after a short break. The dimensions have had to be re-altered to just shorten the block slightly because we couldnt afford the long one we had originally planned. Its only going to be shortened by a metre (alot actually I know but its better than nothing).

As for when then work starts we've been told nothing more than a couple of weeks and it will be 100% ready before the summer starts. All they are waiting for is word from their site foreman (the bloke who sorts everything out) then they can begin.

For those who want reminding of design the link is back up on the right just click.

MILE BENDERS

So on saturday an elite 3 from the PP core windsor devision set about storming the Three Amigos Meanwhile jam, with Prt.Stuart 'Big Stu' Welstead already infultraiting the game of S.K.A.T.E. The groups we set in an unauthadox 4 man group with 1 man from every group going through. After the first four groups we though Stu had been ignored but alas Kev threw him into 'Group 5' along side some randomer, rupert antoine and dave wallace. He did well and served the PP core well but sadly took too many hits and was forced to retreat but he was not the first and infadel Dave Wallace took the title. I was a densely populated area so we took cover across town at Mile End before retreating back on home turf, here is the feild report -

Finally long time Plank Pushers Feild Sargent and one of the infamous gnarly Schneider brothers has got his blog underway so show some love (not gay army love mind) -

A BLOG WORTHY WEEKEND -

Its been a long and blog worthy weekend. About two weeks ago I got an email from my boss telling me that the Channel 5 Gadget show will be coming to town and wanted to film at the skatepark as they were at a design company in town and were working with clip-on, extreme, handy HD cameras. So I had a phone call from them and they were filming on friday and Stu and I had to be at the park in the morning to prep the park and give them a hand (and get extreme in the backround) So tune in on April the 4th !

After a Friday with Channel 5 we decided to hit up Abingdon early on saturday. This is Sam geting his pre-shred media on at mine in the way of Real's 'Roll Forever'

After the manditory pre-skate film it was a road warm up session

After a bit of a slog on the road we reached the park, it was sun-shiney and empty.

James was back on the session after pimping his crib for 3 months.

Shit was shred like important documents, werrics went down and a Sunday session went down at the local. Alex came back to mine to pimp pizzas and sessioned ridiculous magazines.

Poot Magazine, officially the worlds wierdest/best magazine.

The finest article of the magazine.

Heres the weekend in moving pictures . . .

Now back to a week of staring at a computer screen banging out essays, practical write-ups and revising.

JAKE AND JAMES MEET IN MANC

So this weekend I went up to Manchester for a weekend away and to get off my nut in a different location with some mates from uni, luckily enough James was in the same city for the same reason so we met up to shred and this is how it panned out . . .

Annoyingly the Pump-Cage closes at 5 on sunday and after dicking around for about 20 mins getting lost we only managed to get there with 40 mins to spare and were too busy shredding to film anything in the park, mind you its a fucking shredders park and half the shit ive seen in videos is totally bonkers when you skate the place.

Photo of the day . . .

FOOKING BANGIN WEEKEND MAYTE !
